Suruchi- Kamaljeet clinch gold in 10m air pistol mixed team event: Day 6 of Asian Games witnessed spectacular performance of athletes in shooting. Indian shooters Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh won gold medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event in shooting on Friday. This is second gold medal for India at the Asian Games 2026.
Kamaljit and Suruchi managed to maintain themselves at the top position and finally grabbed the gold medal by finishing with 484.6 points. They missed the world record by just 3.8 points. The Indian duo had topped qualification, too, with a total of 587. Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudrankksh Patil and Niraj Kumar narrowly miss the 50m rifle 3-person team title after a costly standing series. South Korean pair of Choo Gaeun and Hong Suhyeon managed to win the silver medal at the end of the event with 478 points. At the same time, the pair of Iran captured the bronze medal with 415.8 points while the pair of Indonesia finished fourth with 349.4 points. Earlier, Kamaljit and Suruchi topped the qualification round with a brilliant performance and made it to the finals.
India’s men’s 50m rifle 3 position team has also won silver medal. In this event, Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar, Neeraj Kumar and Rudraksh Patil from India scored 589, 588 and 585 points in the qualification round to win the team silver medal. The Indian team scored a total of 1762 points, while China bagged the gold medal with 1766 points. So far, the Indian team has won 18 medals in the Asian Games, in which they have managed to win 2 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze medals, while India is now at the 12th position in the medal tally.
