INDIA Bloc observing 12- Hour Odisha Bandh

INDIA Bloc observing 12- Hour Odisha Bandh: INDIA Bloc on Thursday is observing a statewide bandh over set of demands. Congress workers and supporters have staged protests and road blockades at many places following disruption in vehicular movements.

The impact of bandh was visible at major chowks including master canteen square and Palasuni square. The bandh has started from 6am and will continue till 6pm. Shops, business establishments are closed. Emergency services like ambulance and fire services, medicine stores and pharmacies, milk transportation are excluded from bandh.

The INDIA bloc has called the Odisha bandh over three key demands:

1. Immediate withdrawal of the MMDR Amendment Act, 2026.

2. Resignation of Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond over errors in school textbooks.

3. Resignation and arrest of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
