Summer holidays extended in 5 districts: Amid prevailing heat wave conditions schools will remain closed across state until June 20, 2026.
According to an official order issued by the District Education Office, educational institutions in Bolangir, Sonepur, Ganjam, Angul, and Sundargarh are directed to extend summer vacations until June 20. The earlier reopening of school was scheduled for June 18. As June 21 falls on a Sunday, schools in these districts will resume classes on June 22. On the other hand, Nuapada district authorities have opted to revise school timings. An order issued by the District Education Officer stated that classes will be conducted from 6.30 am to 11.30 am between June 18 and June 20 to minimise students’ exposure to the scorching heat.
District officials are asking educational institutions to stay vigilant and follow all guidelines to protect students’ health and well-being.
