In Judo, Asmita Dey(48kg) and Harsh Singh(60 kg) created history in the Commonwealth Games 2026 by winning gold medals in the event. At the same time, Yamini Mourya won the silver medal in the 57 kg category. On the other hand, Tejaswin Shankar finished third in the decathlon event, giving India its first medal in the event in the history of the Commonwealth Games. Apart from these, star athlete Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal, and his teammate Yash Vir Singh bagged the bronze medal in the Javelin throw. Neeraj Chopra settled for the silver medal after recording a season-best throw of 85.93m in his second attempt. Yash Vir Singh delivered a brilliant final-round throw of 85.41m to snatch the bronze medal with his last attempt.
Tejaswin became the first Indian athlete to win a medal in the decathlon event in Commonwealth Games history. He completed his final 1500m race in 4:36.19 minutes to secure the historic bronze medal with a total of 7,976 points.
