Bus Falls into Padma River in Rajbari District, 23 Dead, Several Missing
Bangladesh Bus Accident: 23 Dead After Vehicle Falls into River: A tragic road accident occurred in Bangladesh’s Rajbari District when a passenger bus fell into the Padma River, resulting in the death of at least 23 people.
The incident took place around 5 pm near the Daulatdiya Ferry Terminal. According to reports, the bus was carrying around 40–50 passengers and was travelling towards Dhaka. While boarding a ferry, the driver reportedly lost control, causing the bus to plunge into the river.
Bangladesh Tragedy: Bus Sinks in River, Several Missing
Police and rescue teams reached the spot soon after the incident and have recovered 23 bodies so far. Several passengers have been rescued, but many are still missing. Rescue operations were paused overnight due to darkness and resumed the next morning with the help of fire service, navy, and police teams.
Following the accident, a large number of relatives gathered at the riverbank, creating challenges for rescue operations. Authorities are continuing efforts to locate the missing and are closely monitoring the situation.
