‘₹3,000 for Women, Meals at ₹5’: Major Welfare Push Announced in Bengal
Bengal Govt Promises ₹3,000 Monthly Aid for Women, ₹5 Fish-Rice Meals: Suvendu Adhikari made several big announcements on Tuesday. He said forms for the Annapurna Scheme will be available from May 27, and women will get ₹3,000 every month after registration.
He also announced that no liquor shops will be allowed within one kilometre of schools, colleges, and religious places. The government will also provide fish and rice meals for just ₹5 twice a week through 400 special canteens across Bengal. A separate AYUSH Department will also be created.
Meanwhile, Suvendu held his second ‘Janata Darbar’ in Salt Lake, where many job seekers, teachers, nurses, and common people came to share their problems.
Hundreds of people gathered outside the BJP office early in the morning with files and applications, hoping for jobs and solutions to their issues. When Suvendu arrived, supporters raised slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.”
