Big blow for AAP, Harmeet and Chetan resigns: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suffered a major setback ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections. Two of its MLAs resigned from the party’s primary membership on Sunday (November 1). The recent development came a day after AAP released list of 40 candidates list.

Punjab AAP MLAs Harmeet Singh Pathan Majra and Chetan Singh Jouramajra have resigned after missing the first ticket list. The twin exits underline party tensions, including Pathanmajra’s dispute with the leadership.

‘I have resigned. Rest I will tell later, Pathan Majra stated. Jouramajra, a former Cabinet minister, confirming his departure from the party stated, ‘I have resigned. I don’t have my heart into the party. Situation of Punjab is heartbreaking. We will talk later,’ he said.

Pathan Majra, who represents the Sanaur Assembly constituency in Patiala district, submitted his resignation to AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, stating that it would take effect immediately. ‘I hereby submit my resignation from primary membership of Aam Aadmi Party with immediate effect,’ he said in a letter.
