Amit Shah Confident of BJP Victory in Bengal
BJP Ahead with 110 Seats in Bengal Polls Phase One: Amit Shah: Amit Shah addressed the media on Thursday and praised voters for the high turnout in the West Bengal Assembly Elections. He said the people of Bengal have voted in large numbers and that the elections were conducted peacefully without any loss of life. Shah also expressed confidence that the BJP will come to power, stating that change is underway in the state.
Shah said that voters have started a “journey from fear to trust” and claimed that anti-incumbency against Mamata Banerjee is at its peak. He congratulated voters for what he described as a strong beginning and expressed hope that upcoming phases of voting would continue in the same direction. He also thanked the Election Commission of India, security forces, and police for ensuring peaceful polling.
Responding to concerns raised by Mamata Banerjee, Shah said that the next Chief Minister would be a Bengali leader from the BJP. He dismissed claims that outsiders would rule the state, saying the leader would be born and educated in Bengal. The elections are being held in phases, with the next round scheduled soon and results expected in early May.
