CBSE Cuts Rechecking Fees, Allows Students to View Answer Copies for ₹100
CBSE Announces ₹100 Answer Sheet Access Amid Marking Error Concerns: Amid the controversy over answer sheet evaluation, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made an important announcement. Students can now view their answer sheets by paying only ₹100, instead of the earlier ₹700 fee. For re-checking a specific answer, students will need to pay ₹25 per question.
School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar and CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh addressed students’ concerns about the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. They said that OSM is not new and was first introduced in 2014. This technology-based evaluation system is used in many countries around the world.
They also assured students and parents that the evaluation process is fully transparent. Students can apply for re-evaluation if they are not satisfied with their marks.
According to CBSE, around 98.66 lakh answer sheets were checked digitally this year. The answer sheets were scanned and sent to examiners through a secure digital platform with a three-level security system to prevent malpractice.
