Not only the diplomatic corridors, but also the historic bazaars in Delhi are being decorated for the 18th BRICS summit in Delhi on September 12 and 13 at Bharat Mandapam. Brijesh Goyal, Chairman of the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI), an apex organization of businessmen and entrepreneurs of Delhi in a letter to the Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, urged that BRICS representatives be given a tour of historic markets of the capital including Chandni Chowk. CTI says that the organization is ready to make necessary arrangements for the hospitality of foreign guests on any day when the market visit is planned. Foreign delegations can start arriving in Delhi before September 11 and will stay here after September 13. In such a situation, traders are hoping that they will get a chance to visit the market between the meetings.

From famous jalebi and rabri, kachodi, chhole-bhatore, bhalle-papadi and parathas, sweet shops to wholesale markets for lehengas, sarees, suits, jewellery, suiting-shirting, gota-zari and dry fruits can introduce foreign visitors to Delhi’s traditional business and food scene. CTI believes that such a visit will give foreign delegates an opportunity to get a closer look at Delhi’s culture, dress, food and hospitality, and local businesses can also benefit from it.

According to CTI General Secretary Gurmeet Arora and Ramesh Ahuja, the organization is preparing to provide skilled tourist guides in English and other languages ​​for four days. Social media influencers associated with CTI are also practicing speaking in foreign languages, so that they do not have trouble communicating with visitors to the market.
