CM Majhi cancels Diwali celebrations at his official residence: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has cancelled Diwali celebrations at his official residence this year. In a significant gesture of solidarity with the flood affected people, CM has taken this decision.

As per an official communication, there will be no Diwali celebration at the Chief Minister’s residence in view of the large-scale devastation caused by post-Cyclone ‘Arnab’ floods, particularly in South Odisha. In this context, all well-wishers and citizens have been requested not to bring gifts or flower bouquets to the CM’s residence on the occasion.

The Chief Minister has appealed to all to remain sensitive towards the people of the affected areas and to extend a helping hand for the assistance of the disaster-affected people.
