CM Vijay raises health insurance coverage from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Wednesday announced a major overhaul of the state’s health insurance scheme. Now the beneficiaries will get a health insurance cover of up to Rs 25 lakh instead of Rs 5 lakh  CM said.

CM Vijay made several big announcements related to MLAs and common people in the assembly. ‘Each MLA will receive a monthly vehicle allowance of Rs 75,000 to cover the driver’s salary and car related expenses. An additional amount of Rs 25,000 per month will be provided to each MLA to hire an assistant,’ said CM Vijay. Additionally, all MLA’s will be provided with a government vehicle to carry out their public service duty and constituency duties efficiently.

 Meanwhile, Annual coverage under CM Health Insurance increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. Aavin milk procurement price was raised from ₹38 per liter to ₹41 per liter. This includes a government incentive of ₹3 per liter. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the livelihoods and interests of milk producers, stated the CM.

Vijay’s other key announcements include Rs 351 crore for medical education, seven new nursing colleges, a 400-bed hospital in Perambalur at an estimated cost of Rs 300  crore, and Rs 471 crore for cancer care. The announcements made under Rule 110 are being viewed as significant decisions concerning healthcare facilities in the state, milk producers, and the constituency-related work of MLAs.
