Ranchi student protest suspended for 2 months: The Ranchi student protest has been suspended for the next 2 months. The students took this decision after the government accepted their demands. They have also warned that if a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the examinations is not initiated within this period, they will resume their agitation.

A decision to call off the agitation for the time being was taken during a meeting of the JPSC-JSSC Reform Forum’s core committee. Students said that the government has initiated an inquiry into the flaws within the examination system. Therefore, it should be allowed to complete the investigation impartially. The protesting students have issued a 60-day ultimatum for a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the exams. If the demand is not met within this time, they will restart the agitation, students said.

The Jharkhand government has decided to cancel 22 examinations based on facts revealed during the CID investigation. Additionally, in accordance with the government’s order, the process for six examinations has been suspended, while 17 examinations will be investigated for potential irregularities.

Following the students’ decision to end the protest, the process of vacating the protest site has begun.
