Cuttack SCB Fire Incident : The President and the Prime Minister have expressed their condolences over the fire incident at SCB Medical College in Cuttack. They have expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi has expressed his condolences by posting on his X account. He has also announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). He has also announced an assistance of Rs 50,000 to each injured person.
Similarly, the Chief Minister has announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the family of the deceased. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has ordered a judicial inquiry. Action will be taken after the investigation report. The Fire DG has been directed to monitor the incident. The Chief Minister said that the massive fire may have occurred due to an electrical short circuit.
