Delhi High Court Gets 7 New Judges: Seven judicial officers were formally sworn in as new judges of Delhi High Court on Monday. Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay administered the oath of office and secrecy. After these appointments, the number of judges in the High Court has increased to 50.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the High Court premises from 10 am. The judicial officers namely Nivedita Anil Sharma, Nisha Sahay Saxena, Sanjay Sharma, Bharat Parashar, Aditi Chaudhary, Dinesh Bhatt and Arun Bharadwaj took oath today. Following the recommendation of the Supreme Court collegium, the central government had issued the notification for these appointments on September 19. All of them had previously served in the District Judiciary.
This ceremony marks the beginning of their judicial duties. The induction of new judges reflects the vigor and strength of the judiciary.
