DUSU Elections 2026: ABVP’s Yash Dabas won presidential race with 24, 576 votes: Delhi University Student’s Union(DUSU) election results out. ABVP won the President, Secretary and Joint Secretary posts while an independent bagged the Vice-President post.
Voting for DUSU elections began on Friday morning from 8:30 am. A total of 20 candidates from major student organizations including the ABVP, NSUI and the AISA-SFI alliance were contesting for 4 central panel posts. The ABVP won 3 positions- Yash Dabas won the presidential position with 24, 576 votes, Riya Chhabadi won the post of Secretary, Lakshya Raj Singh won the post of Joint Secretary. Independent candidate Deepanshu Shaukeen won the post of Vice-President with 30, 634 votes. Yash Dabas defeated NSUI’S Vijay Shankar Meena, who secured 22, 576 votes.
Vote counting began at 8 am in the Multipurpose Hall, University Sports Stadium, North Campus, University of Delhi. Total voter turnout was 40.46 per cent, the highest in the last three years. Last year, the turnout stood at 39.5 per cent. A total of 1,000 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were arranged for the election, of which 960 were deployed for voting, and 40 were kept in reserve. Delhi University has 91 colleges across its North and South campuses. However, only 52 colleges and faculties directly participate in the DUSU election process.
