‘Ikkis’ Box Office Collection Day 7: Agastya Nanda’s War Drama Earns ₹1.15 Crore: Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda, who made his Bollywood debut with Sriram Raghavan’s war-based film “Ikkis” (21kkies), is facing a tough test at the box office. Despite strong critical appreciation and a powerful patriotic storyline, the film’s collections have steadily declined after its opening weekend.
“Ikkis,” which also marks the final film appearance of veteran actor Dharmendra, is based on the life of Param Vir Chakra awardee Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal and the historic Battle of Basantar during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. The film released in theatres on January 1 with decent expectations.
According to early trend reports by Sacnilk, Ikkis earned ₹1.15 crore on its 7th day (Wednesday). With this, the film’s total box office collection now stands at ₹24.25 crore.
The film had a mixed run during its first week. It opened at ₹7 crore on Day 1, but collections dropped sharply to ₹3.5 crore on Day 2. Weekend numbers offered some relief, with earnings of ₹4.65 crore on Day 3 and ₹5 crore on Day 4. However, weekday collections witnessed a significant fall, dipping to ₹1.35 crore on Monday, followed by a slight recovery to ₹1.6 crore on Tuesday, before slipping again on Wednesday.
Despite completing a full week in theatres, Ikkis has failed to recover even half of its reported ₹60 crore budget, raising concerns about its commercial fate. This is particularly surprising given the film’s positive word-of-mouth, strong patriotic appeal, and real-life inspirational narrative.
The film is also facing stiff competition at the box office. While it was already competing with “Dhurandhar,” its theatrical run is expected to face further pressure with the release of Prabhas’ pan-India film “The Raja Saab” this Friday.
With declining weekday collections and fresh competition ahead, it remains uncertain whether Ikkis can revive its box office performance in the coming days or will wrap up its theatrical run as an underperformer despite its strong content and legacy-driven cast.
