Man cheats woman through matrimonial app: Puri Police arrested on Monday arrested a man accused duping woman through a matrimonial app. Police have seized 10,000 rupees in cash, 6 mobile phones, debit and credit cards from accused.
The accused has been identified as Balabhadra Prasad Mishra, 44, a resident of Matiasahi under town police limits Anugola. According to police, Mishra allegedly registered himself on the Bharat Matrimony app. He introduced himself to a woman as an Additional Secretary to the Chhattisgarh government. and cheating a woman he met through a matrimonial app. Over the period of time he developed relationship with the woman who was a nurse in profession. He allegedly opened 3 bank accounts in the woman’s name. Then he allegedly linked his mobile number to the accounts and took possession of her passbooks, cheque books, debit cards and credit cards. Mishra also promised a secure job for her sister.
Police reportedly said that the case came to light after the woman discovered that loans worth more than Rs 13 lakh was taken in her name and that the money was withdrawn and used by the accused. She lodged a complaint at the Puri Cyber Crime Police Station on October 13.

Police said that fraud and forgery cases had previously been registered against Mishra in Sambalpur and at Saheed Nagar, Airport and Lingaraj police stations in Bhubaneswar.
