Modi presented ‘Thirukkural’ to Putin, highlighted its timeless wisdom: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Putin held a formal meeting at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Friday. Meanwhile, PM Modi gifted a Russian translation of the great Tamil book ‘Thirukkural’ to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Sharing a video on X, PM Modi wrote, ‘Presented Russian translation of ‘Thirukkural’ to President Putin, which contains the eternal wisdom of the great Thiruvalluvar that transcends languages and borders.’
Presenting the Tirukkural holy book to Putin, Modi said it covers ‘all aspects of human life’. ‘Tirukkural was composed by Thiruvalluvar two thousand years ago. It describes all aspects of human life. It has been translated into Russian language. I believe that the Russian translation of Tirukkural will increase people-to-people contact, which will play an important role in strengthening our relations.’
