No More Burdensome Dues E-Challan, Up To 50% Discount On E-Challan : Relief from outstanding e-challans. The state government announced a discount of up to 50%. A big decision has been taken to provide relief to motorists by settling the outstanding traffic challans in the state. According to a new notification issued by the Home Department of the Odisha Government, a huge discount will be given on old e-challans and traffic fines in the upcoming National Lok Adalat. The government has introduced this ‘One Time Settlement’ scheme with the aim of resolving thousands of cases pending in the courts for a long time and reducing the burden on the judiciary. People who have violated various traffic rules can permanently settle their cases by paying a small fine. It has been clarified that if any case is already pending in the court, then after paying the fine, that prosecution report will be withdrawn.
A big opportunity for motorists who have passed traffic challans. The government has launched a ‘One Time Settlement’ or ‘OTS’ scheme to resolve pending e-challans. Motorists can resolve their challan issues by paying less fine in the National Lok Adalat-2026. These new rules and reduced rates will be applicable on all pending challans. If any challan case is pending in the court, it will be withdrawn after the money is deposited in the Lok Adalat. The person who has a challan can pay the money online through the e-challan portal or at the Lok Adalat camp. This service will be provided as per the instructions of both the state government and NALSA.
There are more than 30 lakh vehicle check reports pending across the country. Odisha has about seven lakh cases in this. As per the state cabinet decision, drivers who have violated the Motor Vehicle Act can resolve their pending challan cases by paying less fine. This step has been taken after the instructions of the Central Government and the Supreme Court. For this, along with the National Lok Adalat, three more Lok Adalats will be held this year. It is expected that this will be a great relief for those who are rushing to the courts for violating traffic rules.
