Odia cinema is gradually finding opportunities to connect with audiences outside its home market. Joining this growing trend is Jadi: The Untold Side of If, which is now set to reach Telugu-speaking viewers. Mega Productions, headed by Udugula Ashwini Kumar Goud, will present the Telugu version of the film. The development gives the Odia production an opportunity to explore a wider theatrical market.
Directed by Dibyajyoti Udayasingh and backed by Kajal Ray under Shreeansh Productions, the comedy-crime drama stars Sailendra Samantaray, Priyambada Swain, Akash Hota and Susant Dash Mohapatra in key roles.
Telugu Glimpse And First Song Out
The makers have begun introducing the film to Telugu audiences. A glimpse from the dubbed version and its first song, Ee Kadhalo, have been unveiled. The track offers an early taste of the film’s musical appeal. Somesh Satpathy has composed the music, while Rakendu Mouli has handled the Telugu adaptation.
However, the makers are yet to announce the Telugu theatrical release date.
From Village Comedy To An Intense Crime Drama
Released in theatres on September 13, 2026, the original Odia film received an ‘A’ certificate. Jadi unfolds in two contrasting phases, starting with light-hearted comedy before taking a gripping crime-drama turn.
Set in a village, the plot centres on a reckless young man and his childhood friend. An ordinary argument soon turns their friendship sour, triggering a bitter feud that disturbs the entire village. As hidden truths come to light, one impulsive decision changes several lives.
A Dramatic Shift After The Interval
The first half captures rural friendships and village life through situational humour, colourful characters and a blend of Odia folk and modern music. However, the narrative takes a sharp turn around the interval, moving into crime, family tensions and police investigations.
The darker second half builds towards an emotional climax, bringing themes of moral decline and men’s responsibilities in contemporary society into focus.
With its Telugu adaptation now underway, Jadi is preparing to take its story beyond its original audience.
