Odisha Celebrates 80th Indepence Day With Patriotic Zeal: The 80th State Level Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic zeal and enthusiasm. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi hoisted the national flag at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar.
Addressing a large gathering Chief Minister delivered an inspiring address highlighting India’s glorious freedom struggle. He also emphasized on the state government’s targeted roadmap for a ‘Vikasit Odisha’. Recalling the sacrifices of freedom fighters, the Chief Minister paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Veer Surendra Sai, Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das, and legendary tribal leaders of the Paika Rebellion like Buxi Jagabandhu and Jayee Rajguru.
The Chief Minister concluded the address by urging the citizens of Odisha to unite with a renewed sense of Odia Asmita (Odia identity) and pride. He declared that the upcoming decade belongs to Odisha, setting clear milestones: ‘Samrudha Odisha’ by 2036 and contributing significantly to a ‘Vikasit Bharat’ by 2047.
Deputy CM KV Singh Deo also greeted the people and remembered the martyrs. ‘On this 80th Independence Day, we bow in reverence to the countless martyrs whose sacrifices gifted us freedom and dignity. Eight decades of resilience, progress, and unity have shaped India into a beacon of democracy and strength. As we salute the Tricolour, we renew our pledge to uphold justice, liberty, and equality. Odisha stands resolute in its journey towards a Viksit Bharat—where every citizen shares in prosperity, and our collective spirit builds a nation worthy of its glorious legacy,’ Singh Deo said.
Deputy CM Pravati Parida extended her greetings through a video message. ‘Heartfelt greetings and best wishes to you all on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day,’ she stated.
