Odisha Lok Bhavan received IGBC Platinum certification

Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati received the certification from IGBC National Chairman C. Shekar Reddy at a programme held at the New Abhishek Hall of Lok Bhavan on Tuesday.

Odisha Lok Bhavan received IGBC Platinum certification: Odisha Lok Bhavan in Bhubaneswar has achieved a major milestone in sustainable and eco-friendly infrastructure. The Lok Bhavan has achieved the prestigious Platinum certification under the Indian Green Building Council’s (IGBC) Green Campus Rating System. With this it has become the first Lok Bhavan in the country to receive the recognition.

Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati received the certification from IGBC National Chairman C. Shekar Reddy at a programme held at the New Abhishek Hall of Lok Bhavan on Tuesday. Lok Bhavan scored 88 out of 100 points, placing it in the highest category of the IGBC rating system.

After receiving the certification, Governor Kambhampati described the achievement as a matter of pride for Odisha. He also credited the collective efforts behind the transformation of Lok Bhavan into a green campus. Kambhampati said the certification recognises several green initiatives implemented at the campus, including enhanced greenery, clean energy generation and consumption, electric mobility and other environmentally sustainable practices. The Governor said he would present the certification to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his forthcoming visit to Delhi. He expressed hope that the achievement would inspire other institutions to adopt sustainable practices and seek green certifications.
