PM Modi inaugurates IMC 2026, highlights India’s tech growth: PM Modi on Thursday inaugurated the 10th edition of India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 at Yashobhoomi in Delhi. Highlighting the rapid growth of India’s telecom and digital connectivity ecosystem, Modi recalled major achievements from previous editions. Which include the launch of 5G in 2022 and the continued expansion of telecom infrastructure.
The four-day event, which began yesterday, showcases India’s remarkable progress in telecommunications, digital connectivity, and technological innovation. The theme of IMC 2026 is ‘Scale Without Boundaries’. Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi said that the India Mobile Congress platform has witnessed the evolution of the telecom sector and digital connectivity in India. He said that 5G connectivity has now reached every district of the country. Modi added that there are now more than five lakh 50 thousand base stations operating 5G connectivity across India.
Modi also called for a global framework to tackle cyber fraud and deepfakes, saying digital threats have crossed national boundaries and require coordinated action by all stakeholders. He also highlighted the expansion of 5G connectivity in the country.

On the occasion, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that PM Modi has always emphasised that technology must reach not only the last village but every single citizen.
