Filing of Nominations Begins for Rajya Sabha By-Election
Rajya Sabha Seat By-Poll: Candidates Can File Nominations Until June 8: The notification for the Rajya Sabha or Upper House by-election has been issued, and the nomination process began on June 1. Candidates can submit their nomination papers from June 1 to June 8 between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM on all working days, except holidays.
The by-election is being conducted to fill the Rajya Sabha seat that became vacant following the resignation of Debashis Samantaray. The Assembly Secretary and Returning Officer announced the election schedule during a press conference.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on June 9. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until 3:00 PM on June 11. Voting and vote counting will be held on June 18, and the results will be declared on the same day.
