state government will re-employ 800 retired police officers
Retired Police Will Get Re-Employment : The state government will re-employ 800 retired police officers. Retired ASI/SI/Inspectors will get this appointment. They will work as Special Police Officers (SPOs). The Home Department has informed the Police DG today that the government has approved this proposal. On the one hand, while the government is refusing to appoint them after retirement, the incident of re-employing 800 retirees at once in a sensitive department like the Police Department has become a matter of discussion.
According to the government’s decision, the police officer to be re-appointed must be under 65 years of age. Their service record must be good at the time of employment and must be physically fit. Their CCR must be good for the five years preceding retirement. They must not have any criminal cases against them and must not have faced any disciplinary action. This appointment will be for one year. The Home Department has said that the DG of Police will form a selection committee and make this appointment. Aspirants are disappointed due to the irregularities in the Police SI examination. This examination has been cancelled twice now. No one has the answer as to when the examination will be held. In such a situation, the government’s decision to reinstate retired police officers has once again pushed the aspirants into despair.
