Savan Barwal clinched silver in Men’s Marathon final: The Indian athletes delivered a strong performance on day-7 of Asian Games. Savan Barwal of India created history in the men’s marathon final with his best ever time of 2:11:37 to win the silver medal. The impressive performance earned India its first men’s marathon medal at the Asian Games in 44 years.
In shooting, the trio of Tilottama Sen, Vidarsha Vinod and Ashi Chowkse won the silver medal in the women’s 50m rifle 3 position team event. Tilottama and Vidarsha also qualified for the individual finals. In archery, there are men’s and women’s team as well as individual qualification rounds in both compound and recurve categories. In squash, Joshna Chinappa-Velavan Senthilkumar won mixed doubles Bronze. The pair lost their mixed doubles semifinal against Tang Ming Hong-Lee Ka Yi of Hong Kong.10-11, 11-2, 10-11 in a dramatic match.
