Government to Give ₹25,000 for Helping Accident Victims

Save a Life, Earn ₹25,000: Govt’s Raah-Veer Scheme Encourages Citizens to Help Accident Victims: In road accident cases, many people hesitate to help victims due to fear of police and legal hassles. To address this, the Government of India has introduced the Raah-Veer Scheme, which rewards citizens who step forward to save lives.

Under this initiative, any person who helps an injured victim reach a hospital within the critical Golden Hour can receive a cash reward of ₹25,000 along with a certificate of appreciation. A person can be honored up to five times a year for repeated acts of bravery.

The scheme ensures that helpers, known as “Raahveers,” face no legal complications. They are not required to pay for treatment, file an FIR, or stay at the hospital. Providing personal details is optional, and they cannot be detained by authorities.

The “Golden Hour” refers to the first hour after a serious injury, which is crucial for saving lives and preventing long-term complications. Immediate medical assistance during this time significantly improves survival chances. Importantly, anyone can become a Raahveer—no medical training or special equipment is needed. A willingness to help is all it takes to make a life-saving difference.
