The argument escalated Tuesday night, following which Sridhar attempted to attack his wife with scissors.
Stepfather attacks mother with scissors, son beats him to death: A 23-year-old man allegedly beat his stepfather to death following an assault on his mother. The incident has created a sense of fear among residents in the area. Police have arrested the accused.
The shocking incident occurred on Tuesday night in the Shivanpura area, on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The deceased has been identified as Sridhar(53). The accused has been identified as his stepson, Uday Kumar. As per initial police investigation, Sridhar and his wife Dina were married 22 years ago. Sridhar hails from Tamil Nadu and Dina from Uttar Pradesh. The couple was living in a rented house with their 3 children, Uday, Darshan, and Kanchana. Sridhar was a journalist by profession and had a drinking habit. He often quarrels with his wife and children after drinking. He was also accused of assaulting his wife over a domestic dispute. The ongoing family dispute has created tension at home. The argument escalated Tuesday night, following which Sridhar attempted to attack his wife with scissors. Uday interfered and hit his stepfather, Sridhar, on the head with a wooden stick. Then Uday allegedly attacked his stepfather with a motorcycle shock absorber rod. Sridhar sustained serious injuries.
After this incident neighbours gathered and informed the police. Police reached the spot and investigated the scene and surrounding circumstances. Sridhar was rushed to BGS hospital for treatment but unfortunately he died while undergoing treatment. Police have arrested the accused and are interrogating him.
