Baramati By-Election Turns Uncontested After Last-Minute Withdrawal: Clears Path for Sunetra Pawar

Sunetra Pawar Set to Win Baramati Seat Unopposed After Congress Withdrawal: Sunetra Pawar is set to become the MLA from Baramati after emerging as the sole candidate in the by-election. The development follows the withdrawal of Congress nominee Akash More just before the deadline, effectively clearing the way for her unopposed victory.

The seat was vacated after the demise of Ajit Pawar, a long-time representative of Baramati, which is considered a stronghold of the Pawar family. Prior to the withdrawal, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and senior leader Sharad Pawar had appealed to the Congress to refrain from contesting the seat as a mark of respect.
