After a shaky start to the season, KKR delivered a much-needed all-round performance, with Varun Chakravarthy starring with the ball and Rinku Singh guiding the chase with an unbeaten 53. The win came after five defeats in their opening seven matches, giving the team a crucial boost.
Batting first, Rajasthan Royals managed 155 runs as their innings faltered after a steady start. Vaibhav Suryavanshi (46) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (39) gave a solid opening partnership, but Varun Chakravarthy turned the game around with a brilliant spell of 3/14. He dismantled the top order, while Kartik Tyagi and Sunil Narine also chipped in with key wickets to restrict Rajasthan to a below-par total.
In response, KKR faced early trouble, losing key wickets including captain Ajinkya Rahane for a duck. At one stage, the team was struggling at 85 for 6, but Rinku Singh played a composed yet aggressive knock to turn the match around. Supported by Anukul Roy, Rinku ensured KKR reached the target in the final over, sealing a memorable victory and opening their account in IPL 2026.
