Yogi government takes major action against government employees
68,000 Govt Employees Salaries Stopped By CM Yogi Adityanath : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken major action against government employees. The state government has stopped the salaries of 68,236 government employees for failing to submit their asset details.
The salaries of 66,236 Uttar Pradesh government employees for January 2026 have been stopped. The move was taken under the Yogi government’s zero-tolerance corruption policy, which forced state employees to submit details of their movable and immovable assets. There are a total of 8,66,261 government employees in UP. The decision is believed to reflect the government’s strictness towards employees. The last date for submitting asset declarations was January 31, 2026, but by this last date, 68,000 employees had failed to upload their asset declarations on the human resources portal. The maximum number of them, 34,926, were Class III employees. The Yogi government has made it clear that if these employees do not submit their asset declarations, then their January salary will not be paid in February. So, they may submit the declarations after this order.
The employees whose salaries are being stopped include those in the Public Works Department, Revenue, Basic and Secondary Education, Social Welfare, Women Welfare, Cooperatives, Excise, Food Logistics, Medical Education, Rural Engineering, Animal Husbandry, Transport, Horticulture and others. Employees of these departments have not yet uploaded their asset details on the portal.
