- Central Sector Scholarship Scheme: One of the most popular schemes for B.Com students is the ‘Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for College and University Students’. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 12,000 per year is given to eligible students at the graduation level. To apply, the student must be among the top 80 percentiles of their respective board in the 12th board examination. Also, the annual income of the family should not exceed 4.5 lakh rupees.
- PM-YASASVI and Post Matric Scholarship: The government also runs schemes like PM-YASASVI and Post Matric Scholarship for students from socially and economically backward classes. Under these schemes, students are provided with maintenance allowance, reimbursement of tuition fees and additional assistance for books. The amount of benefit may vary as per the rules of the respective state governments.
- Special Scholarship Schemes of State Governments: Various state governments also run special scholarship programs for B.Com students. Only permanent residents of the state can avail this benefit. Different scholarship schemes are being conducted in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and other states for meritorious students, female students and SC, ST, OBC category students. Candidates applying for the scholarship must have passed plus two from a recognized college or university. Apart from this Subject marks, income limit and social class also count.
