Who Will Be The New Chief Minister Of Kerala? Mallikarjun Kharge May Take The Decision On May 10 : After the historic victory in the Kerala Assembly elections, all eyes are now on the Chief Minister’s seat. The Congress high command is expected to announce the Chief Minister’s name soon.
Sources indicate that the Congress is expected to announce the name of the Kerala Chief Minister on Sunday, May 10th. A one-line resolution was passed at the MLAs’ meeting. The decision on the Kerala Chief Minister has been left to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.
Congress MP JB Mather on Thursday said the ongoing Congress Legislature Party (CLP) process in Kerala reflects the party’s internal democracy and asserted that no decision is being imposed on anyone.
Talking about the legislature party meeting and discussions with the MLAs, he said that the opinions received from the MLAs and senior leaders will be considered, after which the party high command will take the final decision on the Chief Ministerial candidate.
Satishan’s tough stance!
According to sources, if VD Satheesan is not chosen as the Chief Ministerial candidate in Kerala, he may take a tough stand . Sources say Satheesan has decided that if he is not appointed Chief Minister, he will remain a mere MLA and may choose not to be part of the new government.
As celebrations continued over the UDF’s landslide victory of 102 seats in the 140-member Assembly, Kerala Congress (Joseph) chief P.J. Joseph has demanded at least two ministerial berths for his party in the new government.
