6.7 magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia’s Sulawesi Island: A powerful earthquake hit Indonesia’s Sulawesi Island on Tuesday. The magnitude 6.7 was recorded on richter scale. As per the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake’s epicenter was located around 42 km southeast of Pallu at a depth of 10 km. No information regarding casualties or damage was recorded.
The tremor was strongly felt in Palu, Sigi, Donggala, and other areas of the island. The people were also evacuated from coastal areas to a safe place against possible aftershocks or Tsunami risks. The authorities are still assessing the impact of the earthquake in affected areas.
