The speculation gained traction because Akshaye had played a pivotal role in the first Race film released in 2008, though he did not appear in Race 2 or Race 3. Addressing these rumours, Race franchise producer Ramesh Taurani has categorically denied any such development. In a recent interview, Taurani clarified that Akshaye Khanna has not been approached for Race 4 and that there have been no discussions or plans regarding his return to the franchise.

Providing an update on Race 4, the producer revealed that the film is still in the scripting stage, and no casting decisions have been finalized yet. He emphasized that official announcements regarding the cast will only be made once the story is completely locked.
While fans may be disappointed by the news, Akshaye Khanna’s post-Dhurandhar momentum suggests that audiences can still look forward to seeing him in impactful and carefully chosen roles in the near future.
