 Water Supply Will Be Cut Off For 44 Hours In These Cities From January 20 : There is a very important news for the people living in Mumbai in the next few days. Due to the construction of Mumbai Metro 7, water supply will be cut off for 44 hours in many areas of the city. This cut is happening during the Maghi Ganesh festival week. This may cause inconvenience to the residents. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) have started transferring underground water pipelines for Metro 7 route. However, this is likely to create this problem.

When will the water supply be disrupted?
According to the BMC, water supply will be disrupted from 9 am on January 20 to 5 am on January 22. In some areas, water supply will be completely stopped, while in other areas, water will be supplied at reduced pressure or with a modified schedule. Let’s know which wards will be affected the most.

Which areas will be affected?
G North Ward: Water supply will be at low pressure in Jharavi, parts of Mahim and Matunga Labour Camp area in the morning and evening on January 20 and 21.

K East Ward (Most affected): In Dhanderi East, MIDC Marol, Chakala, City, Airport area, SEEPZ, Kondivita, Maheshwari Nagar, Bamanwada, Parsi Wada and City Village will have full water supply. Some areas will have reduced water supply for some time.

S Ward: There is a possibility of low pressure or complete water supply in Bhandup West and Vikhroli West, Morarji Nagar, Jai Bhim Nagar, Kailash Nagar, Best Nagar, Filterpada and Aarey Road areas.

H East Ward: Water supply will be with low pressure till late evening in Bandra East and entire Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) area.

N Ward: Vikhroli West Railway Station Road, Godrej Compound, R City Mall area, Kailash Complex, Shreyas Cinema area and residential complexes like Wadhwa Residency and President Tower are likely to remain closed due to low water pressure.

BMC appeals to residents
BMC has appealed to residents to conserve water and use less. It has requested them to use less water during the renovations and as a precautionary measure, boil and filter drinking water for the next few days. The civic body has also requested residents to cooperate while essential infrastructure works are underway.
