Doordarshan news anchor Sarla Maheshwari has passed away. She was known for her calm voice and personality and pure Hindi accent. She was 71 years old at the time of her death. Prasanta was a popular face on Doordarshan. She was known for presenting news in a balanced and calm voice in the 1980s and 1990s. The news of Sarla Maheshwari’s death was posted by her brother. Prasanta’s last rites were performed at Delhi’s Nigambodh Ghat at 4 pm today.
