The Indian passport is at 75th place in the list of the world’s most powerful passports . Earlier this year, India was at 80th place in the list. It has improved by five places in a month, according to the February 2026 report of the Henley Passport Index. According to Henley, the more countries a country’s passport can grant visa-free entry, the stronger it is. India’s best rank was 71 in 2006. Since then, the Indian passport has been moving up and down in the list. According to the Henley list, the world’s most powerful passport is Singapore’s passport. It has visa-free entry to a maximum of 192 countries. Japan and South Korea are in second place on the list, followed by Sweden and the UAE. Belgium and Switzerland are in fourth place, along with 12 countries. The US passport is at 10th place. Overall, Asian countries dominate the list. Singapore, Japan and Korea occupy the top two spots. Visa-free entry means that these countries have very good diplomatic relations with various countries. Their ranking has not changed much over the years. However, in recent years, the influence of Western passports has started to decrease. In 2014, the passports of the US and the UK were at the top of the list. Now they have slipped significantly.
