Bangladesh Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman will visit New Delhi to meet India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar on April 8.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister to Visit India for Important Meeting: This meeting is important because relations between the two countries became tense earlier. After Tarique Rahman became Prime Minister, both countries are now trying to improve their relationship.
They will talk about energy cooperation, sharing river water, border issues, and visa problems. Bangladesh may also ask India to restart tourist visas, which have been stopped since July 2024.
The Ganga water agreement, signed in 1996 and ending in 2026, may also be discussed.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already invited Tarique Rahman to visit India, showing a positive step towards better relations.
This meeting is seen as a good opportunity for both countries to solve problems and strengthen ties.
