TATA IPL 2026, Match 12: KKR vs PBKS Abandoned Due to Rain, Teams Share Points: The IPL 2026 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) was abandoned due to rain, with both teams sharing one point each.
KKR won the toss and chose to bat first but had a poor start. Xavier Bartlett struck early, dismissing Finn Allen (6) and Cameron Green (4) in the same over, with both catches taken by Prabhsimran Singh. KKR were 25/2 in 3.4 overs when rain interrupted play.
Although the rain briefly stopped, the ground remained too wet, and even a five-over match could not be held before the cutoff time. After inspection, umpires decided to call off the match.
KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane confirmed two changes in the team, with Rovman Powell and Navdeep Saini replacing injured Varun Chakravarthy and unwell Sunil Narine. PBKS made no changes.
Bollywood star and KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan was present at the stadium along with his daughter, watching the rain-hit match. This is the second consecutive season where a KKR vs PBKS match has been affected by rain, raising concerns for both teams early in the tournament.
