IMD issues thunderstorm alert for 12 districts, wind speed up to 50-60 kmph: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Nowcast warning for 12 districts of Odisha on Saturday.
According to the IMD midday bulletin, thunderstorms with lightning, light to moderate rain, and wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are expected to occur at one or two places over 12 districts. Angul, Sonepur, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city), Puri, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Gajapati are likely to experience bad weather during the next three hours. Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty wind (50-60 kmph) very may also occur at one or two places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Gajapati on Saturday. Similar Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawrangpur, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda and Nayagarh may experience wind speed of 40-50 kmph.
