Pralhad Joshi Shares First Reaction After Cabinet Change

Pralhad Joshi’s First Remarks as Education Minister: Newly appointed Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi on Saturday (July 25) said he has accepted his new responsibility with humility and will work to the best of his ability. Joshi, who continues to hold the Consumer Affairs portfolio, was given additional charge of the Education Ministry after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned.

Speaking to reporters, Joshi said he would work under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and praised Pradhan for implementing the National Education Policy over the past few years.

Pradhan stepped down following nationwide protests over the NEET paper leak controversy. Student groups welcomed his resignation, calling it an important first step toward reform.

The protesters said they expect the new Education Minister to ensure a transparent examination system, make education more affordable, improve government schools, strengthen primary education, and prevent paper leaks. They also demanded more qualified teachers, better skill development, and improved facilities for students preparing for competitive exams such as NEET, JEE and UPSC.
