Less social connections: Social media addiction often leads people to become socially isolated. This also adversely affects their quality of life.

Constant exposure to negative news: This leads to problems of anxiety, stress and overthinking. Gradually, this habit can also cause mood swings, irritability and lack of focus, which affects daily life and functioning.

Experts say Doom scrolling is also directly related to the dopamine system. It gives temporary happiness, but gradually it becomes a habit and one starts spending more time on mobile. This can take the form of digital addiction, which further increases mental fatigue.
