LIC, TATA Power, and other companies going Ex- Dividend: Several companies, including Asian Paints Ltd., Hindustan Unilever Ltd., Life Tata Power Co. Ltd. and Supreme Industries Ltd., are set to trade ex-dividend this week. The record dates are falling between June 22 and June 27. This week is going to be important for stock market investors in terms of potential earnings.

According to BSE data, if you want to receive a company’s dividend, you should have shares in your portfolio on or before the ‘ex-dividend date’ (or ‘ex-date’). Shares purchased on or after the ‘ex-date’ do not receive dividends. Companies determine the list of shareholders who are entitled to receive dividends based on the ‘record date’. Notably, Indian equity markets will remain closed on Friday, June 28, on account of the observance of Muharram.
