The Prime Minister’s Office has also sought the complete details related to the trust’s income and expenditure, bank deposits, and other assets.
Ram Mandir Donation Row: Trust General Secretary Champat Rai resigns: The General Secretary of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai has resigned. He was under pressure to resign after the case of theft of offerings in Ayodhya’s Ram temple came to light. He was targeted by the opposition. Apart from Champat, Trust member Anil Mishra has also resigned.
The resignations of both have come at a time when the first FIR has been registered on the basis of the preliminary report of the Special Investigation Team(SIT) constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government, and the investigation into the case is progressing steadily. The SIT has also arrested 8 people in this connection. The complaint was lodged by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust member Krishna Mohan, who was inducted into the trust in September 2025 following the demise of former trustee Kameshwar Chaupal.
It is being reported that the resignation has been taken from both officials. However, it has not been officially confirmed. On the other hand, the Prime Minister’s Office has also sought the complete details related to the trust’s income and expenditure, bank deposits, and other assets.
