DGP Y B Khurania confirmed that Jagamohan Meena has submitted his resignation and that the government is examining it.
The 2013-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Jagmohan Meena said there was no pressure from any quarter. Decision for resignation was solely based on personal considerations. Confirming the development, Meena said he intends to join the private sector once his resignation is formally accepted by the state government.
Before his posting in Bhubaneswar, Meena served in several positions across the state, including DCP of Cuttack, and Superintendent of Police (SP) in Angul as well as the sensitive district of Ganjam.
Over his career, he earned multiple prestigious commendations, including the Police Medal for Gallantry in 2019, the Police Antrik Suraksha Seva Padak in 2021, and the Governor’s Medal in 2023.
Meena expressed his gratitude to the people of Odisha, describing them as very kind and welcoming. He also sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath. Further details regarding the acceptance of his resignation and his successor are awaited.
