According to sources, Joel Kaplan, head of global affairs of META with his high-level team met Union Electronics and Information Technology (IT) Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in Delhi on Wednesday. The high-profile meeting focused on platform security, content moderation and recent events. Zuckerberg also apologised for the errors in operating the intermediary platforms. ‘Meta admitted that a lot of money was paid for boosting certain types of content,’ sources said.
The development comes hours after a Parliamentary panel gave Zuckerberg three days ultimatum to apologise for the removal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s video from Facebook.
