Delhi man brutally murders wife influenced by Hollywood web series: A man brutally murdered his wife over a long-running property dispute. Police tracked down and arrested the accused using CCTV footage. Police have also seized Rs 12.75 lakh from his possession.
The shocking incident has occurred in the Shahdara area of Delhi. The accused has been identified as Kamal Singh(53), a resident of Gagan Vihar. He was living with his wife and son. The murder came to light on July 30 when the couple’s son returned to their home in Gagan Vihar and found his mother lying in a pool of blood. He immediately suspected foul play and informed the police. Before fleeing, the accused had withdrawn Rs 7 lakh and left Delhi towards Gorakhpur. Initially, he planned to cross Nepal. But in an attempt to mislead the police, he changed his route to Mathura. Based on technical surveillance and location tracking, police nabbed him near Mathura railway station. An amount of rupees 12.75 lakh in cash and a scooter used after the incident were also recovered from his possession.
During interrogation the accused Kamal confessed his crime. Kamal said that he had pre planned the perfect murder because of a prolonged family property dispute. He was influenced by the popular Hollywood crime series ‘The Staircase’. He also tried to dispose of the real crime weapon leaving behind another at the scene to confuse the investigators. He tried to portray the murder as a suicide.
Further investigation, including forensic examination are underway.
