Delhi government has decided to construct hostel facilities for 10,000 students where their safety and affordable housing will be taken care of.
Delhi CM plans to build hostels for 10, 000 students: The Delhi government has decided to construct hostels for 10, 000 students. These hostels will accommodate students from any colleges or universities across Delhi. This will ensure safety and affordable housing for students said government.
Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta said,’ If we want to see Delhi as a big educational hub then it is necessary to fulfill hostel requirements along with colleges and universities. Students in lakhs come to study in Delhi. They get admissions but not hostel. Therefore, Delhi government has decided to construct hostel facilities for 10, 000 students where their safety and affordable housing will be taken care of. These hostels will be built for both girls and boys. Students of various colleges and universities can avail facilities of these hostel added Gupta.

‘We have held meetings with different departments which can build hostels. We have identified the locations and have also started drafting the policy. Parents can leave their children, from different states, here without any worry,’ Gupta said.
The development comes after Delhi government stepped up its actions against unsafe and unauthorized buildings following the Satya Niketan building collapse.
